Get a piece of history! In May 1969, the first R-42 subway cars entered service on the BMT Broadway line (today's N train). Although the R-42 cars had steel bodies, the cars featured painted blue accents that coordinated with the two-toned M logo and corporate colors of the recently-formed MTA. The last of the R-42 fleet was retired in 2020 after more than 50 years of service. A farewell run was held on February 12, 2020 and these commemorative pins were distributed to passengers.
