In the ensuing years, he completed dieselization, installed CTC on the main lines, and believed in good customer service for profitable freight business. Under his aegis, the NYC introduced Flexi-Flo covered hoppers, Flexi-Van container service, and ushered in a new Century Green paint scheme to salute the new services.
