Plush MetroCard Cardvaark
Meet the MTA's cuddly MetroCard Cardvaark—your new transit-themed plush companion! This soft, vibrant character stands 9.5 inches tall and measures 9.5 inches from toe to tail, dressed in a colorful MetroCard-inspired outfit. Perfect for collectors and fans alike, this plush brings a fun city spirit to any home or workspace.
The Cardvaark was the proposed mascot for MetroCard in 1993. Before the introduction of MetroCard, advertising and marketing firm Burson-Marstellar pitched a rollout campaign that would inform the larges amount of people in the shortest period of time about the benefits of switching from tokens.
One of the more novel approaches in this proposal was the Cardvaark- "a high-tech, yet loveable creature who can "sell" the card" to customers. Unfortunately, the Cardvaark was never pressed into service.
